UDA MP dismisses Finance Bill as punitive, oppressive and scandalous

The fall out over the Finance Bill 2023 dramatically escalated after Githunguri MP Gathoni Wa Mucomba dismissed it as punitive oppressive and scandalous.

In a terse statement issued today the UDA MP said she was ready to speak the truth about the controversial bill no matyer the consequences.

Quoting the Holy Bible extensively Gathoni said she was speaking the will of the people who have rejected the bill that President Ruto is pushing hard.

President Ruto has vowed to have the bill passed and has even issued a threat to MPs to who oppose it.

Gathoni warned Ruto that he must listen to the populace that has already rejected the bill.

“The Finance Bill 2023 is punitive, oppressive and scandalous. The rulling class must listen to the cries of its citizenry,” Gathoni said.

The statement by Gathoni who belongs to the ruling President Ruto’s party is a major escalation of the divisions within the government caused by the Bill.
