King Charles III takes reign of power in United Kingdom following death his mother Queen Elizabeth II

Royal Family watcher Pauline Njoroge shares the latest insights from the Buckingham Palace United Kingdom as the country undergoes transition following the death of Queen Elizabeth II and the ascension of his son now King Charles II

The Royal Seal of Queen Elizabeth II was ER, as seen on this throne chair at St. James’s Palace. ER stands for Elizabeth Regina. Regina means Queen in Latin.

The Ascension Council meeting this morning at the Palace has formerly proclaimed that the Prince Charles Phillip Arthur George, now becomes their only lawful and rightful liege lord: Charles the Third of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of his other realms and territories, King and head of Commonwealth and Defender of the Faith.

After this proclamation, the new King has approved authorisation of the use of the Great Seals until others are prepared and authorised.

The UK national anthem however has changed from ’God save the Queen to ‘God save the King”
